Charlotte has been a top Equitation rider since the age of 5 which included competing all over Canada as well as the United States.  She has been training and teaching since 1979.  After enjoying much success with hunter/jumpers she had a new motivation, to become a successful barrel racer.  In 2001 her new goal became reality when she became 5th in the nation in the AQHA (American Quarter Horse Association) and Rookie of the Year in the ECWPRA (East Coast Women's Pro Rodeo Association) and moved on to compete at the WNF in Fort Worth, Texas.  In her travels, while competing around the country, she met Stucky.
Stucky, like Charlotte also has many years of experience riding.  However, unlike Charlotte, his form of riding did not not include using a saddle.  He was a Bareback Rider in the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboy's Association).  He was a six time qualifier for circuit finals in the FFC (First Frontier Circuit).  Stucky, had also decided it was time for a change, so he began riding horses using a saddle.  His new endeavor was to become a successful barrel racer.  Since he set his new goal, he is enjoying much success with his new interest and his new horse.

Separately, they both have quite a bit of knowledge in different areas, hence the name "Beyond the Barrel".  Together, the team of Charlotte and Stucky has an enormous range of knowledge in which they have built their stable.  They are very personable and love to teach people and horses of all ages.  So, whatever discipline you would like to learn, you know that you could count on Charlotte and Stucky, who are devoted to teaching you correctly.
